The human body was designed to heal itself naturally. All it needs is the right support from Mother Nature’s pharmacy.

As we focus on breast health this month it’s important to remember that your body has its own innate wisdom that’s available for healing illness and preventing disease.

In this week’s blog you’ll learn seven ways to support your health.

I Am Healing Naturally

From the time you were a small child you had a connection with the natural world. Mother Nature has always been there for you to provide whatever you needed. When you connect to nature you restore your body’s innate intelligence for natural healing.

The art of healing comes from nature, not from the physician. Therefore the physician must start from nature, with an open mind.” ~ Paracelsus

ACTION STEPS

As a child you probably enjoyed playing outdoors on the grass and in the dirt. It turns out that this is how you develop a strong immune system. You need the friendly bacteria that's in the soil to have a healthy microbiome in your gut. Make a habit of standing or sitting with your bare skin touching the earth as much as possible.

Your gut is like a personal garden that depends on maintaining a healthy microbiome. 70% of your immune system is in your gut and that means the microbiome is the foundation of human health. Tend your garden well and you will reap what you sow.

Plant a garden in your backyard, grow herbs in pots, sprout seeds in a jar or join a community garden. Be sure to connect with local organic farmers and support them at your local farmer's markets. Nature provides the most reliable source of healing foods.

Glyphosate, the main chemical ingredient found in pesticides, was actually patented as an antibiotic and has been banned in many countries. Not only does this chemical destroy nutrients in food, it also kills the soil. We need to restore a healthy eco-system on our planet to support natural healing and move away from dependence on toxic chemicals and pharmaceuticals. Your body was designed to use food as natural medicine.

Choose to buy and eat organic. Not only is this good for your health, it's good for the health of the planet. Chemical farming practices are unsustainable. It would only take 16% of the population to buy organic to end the demand for harmful pesticides and GMO crops.

90% of serotonin, the feel-good hormone, is produced in your gut. If you want to feel your best you'll have to balance your inner eco-system. From the air you breathe to the water you drink, and the food you eat, choose the best quality to enjoy a healthy life and feel good.

Fermented foods are good for your gut. Try sauerkraut, kombucha, kimchi, miso, tempeh, coconut milk yogurt and kefir to experience the benefits of natural probiotics. These cultured foods improve digestion, boost immunity and improve cognitive function.
