Authentic power comes from the light of your soul. When you allow the words or actions of others to dim your light, you've given your power away. Reclaim your power by standing in your brilliance.

"You have power over your mind - not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength."  ~ Marcus Aurelius

 ACTION STEPS

Like a tree needs nourishment from its roots to thrive, so do you. Plug into your purpose in life as a power source. When you know why you're here and live in the light of universal consciousness, you'll be aligned with your higher purpose.

True power is a light that cannot be extinguished. The eternal flame of your soul is always with you. Trust in the divine energy that illuminates your way and you will be on the right path. Pay attention to your intuitive voice, and be aware of signs from the universe that you're headed in the right direction.

Take back your power from the past. Every moment that is wasted on regret, guilt, shame, or resentment is a moment you could be creating a better future by the way you are currently living in the present. Past traumas, repressed emotions, and unprocessed grief drain vital energy and usurp personal power. Heal the past with a therapeutic dose of forgiveness to release yourself from painful memories. Set yourself free; no one else will.

You have the power to co-create your reality. If you've allowed others, or society, to dictate what you're doing with your precious life, it's time to re-evaluate. Take your power back by making choices that feel good to you and you'll be living in harmony with your soul.

If you've given your power away to a medical system that doesn't see you as a whole person, reclaim the right to support your body in healing itself. Identify the needs of your soul and begin to tell yourself a new story about what is possible. Consuming anything you know to be harmful to your body is another way of losing power.

Love is a source of power, and it begins with loving yourself. Practice self-love by nourishing your body, giving it exercise, sleeping well, fulfilling your dreams, paying attention to your feelings, relaxing daily, and being kind to yourself. You can only give away what you already have.

Have you given up your power to ageism? Louise Hay started a very successful publishing company at sixty; Jane Fonda is thriving as an actor at eighty; Clint Eastwood is still directing and acting at eighty-eight; and Jay Leno, at sixty-eight, has reinvented his career. No matter what age you are, you can revitalize the career you have or start a new one.
